I don't want M&S to be anything other than friends!

There, I've said it. It's just not the same if they're in "luuv". Of course they love each other, but I don't want it to be romantic love. Why can't they just be friends even after everything they've been through? Why do they have to go and do the obvious and have a "relationship". It's boring and clich� and not what the X-Files is (or used to be) about.

I liked the inuendoes and the UST (yes, there can be UST between friends of the opposite sex) and the not knowing for sure and I wanted it to stay that way.

After 6th E/Amor Fati I still believe they are incredibly close FRIENDS. It can still be interpreted that way at this point in S7. Mulder said "YOU were my friend." And Scully basically said the same thing back. It was a bit too shippy and corny for my taste but it was still noromically acceptable. ;o) :oD

I disagree about Fowley. I think he did love her once or he wouldn't have put so much trust in her in S6 when she first showed up. When I say once, I mean way back before she took off on him all those years ago. Of course Scully is now more important to him than a woman he once loved but that doesn't mean he's in love with Scully the way he was with Fowley or Phoebe. Scully is his best and only friend right now and I want it to stay that way. They can be friends for ever as far as I'm concerned. :o)
