I liked this ep, it was entertaining, but not any depth. It was a fun ep. I didn't mind the male-female teasing and sexist stuff really at all. My only problem was that Phoebe had a "goddess" and knew how to shut the game down all along. It would've been better if she knew nothing and Matreya somehow came from outside the computer system and that she was more a mystery. Writers forgot about mystery in some of these recent eps. Matreya could be some digital entity let loose on the internet, like Invisigoth was at the end of Kill Switch.
A lot of people have been complaining about lack of explanation of the reasons the weird things do what they do, especially in S8. It doesn't bother me as much as it does some people. They haven't always explained stuff. I guess for eps like Darkness Falls, Ice, and Firewalker it was just the lifeforms' way of surviving...I just like the mystery and the "it's still out there" at the end of eps.
