Subject: Being and Time

Sein und Zeit was a really excellent XF story. And Mrs Mulder popping her clogs? A surprise. Throughout this story, I was so impressed with how calm Mulder was being and how he was treating the case professionally. Scully tried to infer that he was finding a Samantha connection, early on but I don't think she was being fair. I don't think he had lost his objectivity at all and he was being very Mulder, very intelligent and on the ball.

Obviously, with this episode being one half of a two parter, I am already asking questions about the next part - like : will Samantha be buried in Santa's Graveyard Grotto? What was Teena Mulder trying to tell her son? Why did she die? Was Samantha really abducted by aliens after all, and is the murderer a red herring? What is the nature of the Samantha clones? Etc etc. I don't want to be told answers to any of these questions, of course, but I am intrigued.

I thought there were excellent performances by all the main cast and I was really moved when Scully comforted Mulder and stayed with him in his apartment. I was glad to see Skinner involved so much, too.

If it is difficult for anyone to look at this ep and comment on it, without being influenced by events in the following ep, then I understand if you don't/can't comment. I know Det thought this ep was good on its own, and I agree.

Question: how come Mulder found details of an old XF, after all his records were burnt? Is this one of the painstakingly put back together cases? (Coincidentally)

Sig? cvl? What do you think of the ep?

PS There is no XF episode this Sunday 11th Feb. We have to wait two weeks for Closure... Here we go again.
