Subject: Idea about Scully's smile in Requiem

I was wondering why Scully seemed happy about the pregnancy as well as bewildered. Yes, Island girl...I know...I know...she was happy because she "knew" it could only be Mulder's baby. But that still doesn't explain why one moment she is saying she has been left barren and within two days she's saying "Oops, my mistake, I'm not barren after all."

Now I have already posted the alternate super sperm theory...i.e. that it was Scully breeding with another abductee (Mulder) that allowed her to concieve. To this theory I would like to add the following bit of evidence: CC says the alien agenda is to spread the black oil and make us all alien/human hybrids and I quote him "You are thinking 'Independence Day'[type alien invasion] and I have something very different in mind." What if the alien agenda is not to conquer us at all but to elevate us to the next level of evolutionary development? According to the X-Files mythology, they may have done that before. Like Mulder says this would explain all of the weird mutants in the X-Files. It would also explain how Mulder's exposure to the black oil resulted in his elevation.

And meanwhile back at my original point, I was thinking about all of those soaps where the woman is raped but somehow "knows" that her true love is the real father of the child she carries because she could sense when it happened. Well, if Mulder is really who Scully was meant to breed with then it is possible that she sensed when she conceived. I think we will see a scene with Mrs. Scully where DS will try to explain how she "knows" Mulder is the father even without the paternity testing and further scientific study. This will be just one of the changes we will see in the new believer Scully's character.

who doesn't know if she would be upset about this soapy approach since it seems like the most logical reason why Scully would be smiling and yet amazed by her condition.
