I agree that Mulder wants them all to be a family together. He'd like children and he'd like them with Scully. When they were in the bed together in Req it sounded like he was saying that she should quit the X Files. That doing XF had taken too much of a toll on her and that she should do something else. I don't think he meant[as maybe she thought], away from him, as I think he too was thinking of leaving the X Files himself. Maybe after seeing her with the baby he began to think that now that they are 'doing it' perhaps he could realistically believe that they both now have a chance for a more normal life like many other couples who love eachother. Whether that involves children is of no consequence. I think as he was thinking that they should both leave the X files before they miss out on a safer life together, he was planting the seed in her head to get her to think of other things she could and should be doing. Both too have been thinking about the safety factor of their work since their relationship has developed. She noticed Billy was married. Then she quizzed Billy about whether the deputy was married or not. I think the danger of their work and the sacrifices it forces from them is now on both their minds.
