Subject: Wasn't there a reference to the boy on the beach
In reply to: Islandgirl 's message, "My feelings about the boy on the beach. . ." on 19:34:58 11/29/00 Wed

that said he and the beach was where Mulder went as a "safe haven"? Mulder, I thought, went there in his mind and the boy is just a little boy who is there building a sand spaceship. I think the spaceship was symbolically destroyed in Mulder's mind to represent his loss of faith in the extraterrestrial life he sought for so long. Also, I liked Sig's explanation about rebuilding the spaceship in the above post. Makes sense to me (but then "Waiting for Godot" wasn't a favorite reading item in High School English either.)
