I forgot to mention that's another posibility I think coud work. Right after the baseball lesson! Because after The Unnatural we have Field Trip with that solidifying handhold at the end and then Biogenesis where Scully seems very possessive of Mulder in regard to the evil Fowlster!

But what I think seems to fit the best is post Amor Fati. I think that touchstone conversation in the hallway sets things up for a clear path between them. That whole business of Mulder taking stock of his life (which parallels Scully doing the same in all things) and thinking about how diffeent his life could have been if he'd gone a simpler route, married Fowley, etc. just leads right back to Scully and him realizing he belongs with her. Once that realization occurs it's full steam ahead! But things may not have finally occured until after Millennium.

I do have another idea though. Maybe they just dated for awhile with no intimacy and took things slow but discussed how they both knew things were changing betwen them. Mulder was ready but Scully wasn't because she hadn't done her "take stock" bit herself. so that leads us back to all things again with it not happening until Scully feels she finally knows what she wants.

What I still don't like about that though is the "event" seemed so ordinary in all things! So here's another idea. They were having an inimate relationship since right after Amor Fati or Millennium but Scully was unsure of how she felt about the whole thing and Mulder was aware of her feelings. It wasn't until all things that she finally realizes that this new step with Mulder is what's right for her and that's part of what she and Mulder talked about that night (which we weren't privy to).
