I too thought Buddy was some kind of alien or another human or even Gibson at first but I caught on pretty quick. I was confused as to whether the baby was still inside as there was a reference to it kicking off its blankets which was confusing. I assume that Mulder and his mind reading abilites were switched on during his time in the ship and he must have been totally in tune with Scully so that the baby picked up on this with it's top notch DNA mind reading ability. It was a good angle from the author. I did wonder throughout the story what Buddy's favourite word would be and I must say that not until a line or two before the announcement did I work it out. I think that is what made me tear up. I never cry at FF's and the only stories I have ever cried over was 'ET' and 'Not Without My Daughter'. Ever since I've had kids I've found that I have gone all sappy. Too much empathy maybe, I don't know. Anyway it was an interesting piece of work. I'll check out those other stories Det and let you know what I thought.

Stardoe
