Teena Mulder is dead, we think lol, you never know!!
Anyhow her "suicide" in Sein Und Zeit was several episodes after Millennium. So presumably she was alive at Christmas, if I've got the time frame correct in the episodes.

Others have noted that Mulder used to be a smoker as we saw in arrrggghh! Travellers?? I should have looked it up! It has been explained that his sunflower seed addiction is in part an effort to control the nicotine addiction. Makes a lot of sense. (And we saw him chewing gum recently) There was another episode where he told Scully that when he was a child his dad used to eat sunflower seeds and sometimes when he woke in the middle of the night and heard his dad eating the seeds it was a comfort to him, but of course since I thought of the scene I can't remember the episode. lol

I guess it was just alot easier for the production dept. to use the Morley cig package instead of creating a new one, besides, we the audience, recognize the "evil" associated with CSM as well as cigs with that brand, so it creates an ominous moment. That scene kinda felt "tacked on" anyway. It's a bit of a leap to think Mulder would buy ONLY that brand, considering he knows CSM smokes only them, IMHO. Since they look like Marlboros which used to be a rather potent cig (don't know now if they are) I would think he'd at least pick up a lighter brand.

Good question about the "bug" Scully was looking for. But even if they did a weekly sweep of the office, "exterminating", heh, heh, they would just be replaced. Just like in Mulder's apartment. ahem, which is, a good reason nothing happened between them in "all things".
