Subject: This review best represents my feelings on this episode
In reply to: Scullystar 's message, "Don't agree..." on 20:32:47 04/09/00 Sun

I'll probably rewatch the episode and review it accordingly.
Who knows...I might even like it.
But this review best represents my view.

Good lord what this once great show has become. This episode
was by far
horrible. I felt at times that I was watching an Ally
episode more then
an X-Files episode.

1) Slow motion at times can be nice but it is rare and the
director
absolutely must know what they are doing. Gillian Anderson
used slow
motion for the sake of slow motion. Slow motion for handing
of papers at
the nurses station?

Anderson must love slowmotion techniques it was used at
least 5 times.

BTW how many times in a season does one show slow motion on
this series?
I cannot recall the last time.

If a technique is not the standard you don't start using it
willy-nilly
all of a sudden.

2) Scully had an affair with her professor and was the cause
of a
breakup in a marriage??? Wow. Never saw that one coming.

3) Who played her former boyfriend? He looked familiar.

4) Scully who is typically strong and pragmatic had so many
Ally
moments. Nearly getting in a car accident, dropping papers.

Of course on top of all those Ally moments she has a song
floating in
her head. BTW what song was that and who sang it? Good
grief.

Plus former boyfriend in her life and she doesn't know what
to do.

5) Ok the holistic woman was extremely cute. But good lord
what a speech
on holistic medicine. Is Anderson into holistic medicine? It
seemed like
a plug. Also who played that woman into holistic medicine?

6) I could be wrong but i thought Mulder dismissed crop
circles early in
the series. When did he change his mind? I got the
impression tonight he
is a crop circle hunter in his spare time.

7) Mulder watching an old movie on his tv? I know this is
just a tv show
but do you really believe Mulder wouldn't be watching
something more
adult? I know they couldn't show that but at least the
sounds or give us
the impression. It would be far more believable.

My impression of Gillian Anderson since she wrote and
directed this
wretched episode. She likes slowmotion, holistic medicine,
has a low
opinion of the character Mulder and is most likely a fan of
Ally McBeal.

I really believe CC doesn't care any more.
To let GA use a technique - slow motion should never have
been allowed.
He should have put his foot down on that one. It is a
technique not part
of the series plus it was overly done.

Well it was nice to know that Scully is no saint and
destroyed a family
10 years ago by having an affair.

Isn't there an online group that proclaims Scully as a
saint??? Gotta
change that concept. Scully was not a saint but a
homewrecker, the other
woman, the mistress. You get my idea. :)
