Yeah, I thought Mulder was being kind of a tool in this ep... it seemed like his behavior was consistent with CC's original depiction of Mulder... but over the years DD has added a lot to the Mulder character and has made him a bit cooler... and this little overly-excited-about-video-games seemed kind of out of character.

Mulder has had so many majorly traumatic things in his life that he knows how to put things in perspective... and I just don't see him as a video game connoisseur. We know what he spends that extra time on... ;) So I have to rationalize that his behavior must have been a joke to tease Scully a bit.

All the sexual innuendo stuff though was perfectly in character... and I got a kick out of all of that... I for some reason, really like when he did the fist in his mouth thing to the other officers... because it was like bonding or joking with the guys. :) Sort of... the officers all shut up because the F_B_I arrived, but then as soon as Scully passed he did the little fist thing and it was like he was sort of putting them all at ease and being like, "I may be the FBI but we're all guys" type of thing. I thought it was kind of a machoish thing to do also, which is consistent with his "fill up the tank while I run off with the guys" comment in X-COPS.

I do think that all his "I feel like blasting something" behavior was all sort of teasing Scully... I think if she hadn't been there he wouldn't have been doing that. I would kind of think he would be above that and agree with Scully on the nature of violence and video games etc.

Anyways... just some thoughts.

Foxy
