I hated this ep especially as a follow-up to the first ep (which I LOOOOOVED). I think this ep was a total let-down, completely anti-climactic, like you said.

The whole series is based on Mulder's quest to find out what happened to Samantha, and ping, out of the blue, he sees these "walk-ins????" and decides to believe she's dead. I'm still amazed he would just SUDDENLY accept that fact.

And we've waited all this time to find out what happened to Samantha, and we still have no REAL "closure." We still don't know what killed her, how or why she died. Or if she really is dead (that fact I doubt). The whole resolution was just way too "convenient" for me. Too "hurry up and get it over with" indeed. I think Samantha has been far too important to the XF to be treated with such a hasty wrap-up. OH! SUCH A LETDOWN!!!

And I would have nominated the XF's cheesiest moment to be when the three of them had to hold hands. I've never agreed with Scully's sarcasm more. Of course I was LOL at Mulder's comment that they could play Spin the Bottle and Post Office next. But then I saw the previews for next week's COPS episode, and that's got to be cheesier by far. What is up with that? Watch it end up being one of my favorite eps.

And OM! That psychic guy really did look like George Bush! I liked the character, though he was no Clyde Bruckman. And I felt really sorry for him at the end--he made me so sad.

I have to say I love how Mulder slept until noon and got so irritated at that guy for waking him at 3 in the morning (as if he hasn't done that to everyone himself). I did love the music during the "fairy" scene (LOL at that comment, Chantal). I also love that we got to see so many arm shots in these two eps. Yummmeeee.

yn :-)
Who will now slip back into oblivion but just couldn't let this ep go by without commenting on what a let-down it is
