"Um...John dear?" KM stutters, as she shrugs into her fishing vest with all the handy-dandy pockets.
John staggers to his feet, mopping his nose on his sleeve. "What?" he whimpers.
"It's come to my attention that you need something to do while we search for KS," KM announces. She gestures towards the basket of slugs she's dragged over from the office. Rab-id sulks next to it, dressed for work in her librarian-style twinset, plaid wool skirt, sensible shoes, and cat-eye glasses hanging from a chain around her neck.
John narrows his eyes. "Which would be what?"
"The sluglets need a tutor and you're just the man for the job!" KM states and gives him a blinding white smile.
John puts his arm up to shield himself from the glare. When he puts his arm down, KM has vanished and he's left with the pouting Rab-id and the sluglets.
"Damn! I knew I shouldn't have looked away!" Doggett mutters and glares at Rabid, who is looking at him plaintively, with her lower lip stuck out like a shelf and winding a strand of hair around one finger. He glances over at Mt. Krychek to notice that the intrepid Mayor is now just a dot on the horizon.
