that they are in love with Scully. It is discussed in one of the Official mags talking about the Milagro episode. It sounds kind of weird. The writers seem obsessed with her much like Phillip Padgett. So I think them wanting Mulder to keep his paws off of their fare Scully is a possibility to explain it in one sense anyway.

The other is I think Carter wanted to portray this nice, solid, soulmate type of friendship. It is a good relationship and I'm glad he did it but maybe he didn't expect the show to last so long so that the platonic friendship became more unrealistic as the years went on. And second, I don't know if he expected the chemistry between DD and GA to be THAT strong.
