My dearest Ashley and Molly...

My post did not say I advocated changing back to the six period class schedule. My post was about change only.

Often school systems get so stuck on one thing they will not change for any reason. My point was and is, with our test scores we have to be open to any idea that may work better.

Six periods or four periods?

Don't really matter to me. Back in the 80's there were six periods each day. The test scores were actually better back then than they are today. Does that mean six periods are better?

I doubt it.

But discipline was better, and so was the quality of teachers.

We have some great teachers today, but if they're honest with you more of their time is wasted taking up the slack for subpar teachers (the previous year) than homeroom.

I wouldn't use graduating early as a reason to keep either one though.

Chip
