I don't know anything about reborn/remade dolls (except that they are so cute!), but it sounds like you may be talking about purple washing. I only know the term because someone is make a couple of dolls for me. :) You could also try posting to the Doll-Fan forum (http://www.doll-fan.com/). Alot of the people there remake dolls and could probably answer your questions or give suggestions.
