Subject: Why we are getting Scully lite episodes

Someone on one of my mailing lists had an explanation. She met GA and is involved with some NF kids (GA's charity) and also talked to GA's mother for a while and visted the set. I don't know if she got this from meeting GA's mom but she seems to know what she's talking about.

I'd heard some of this before but not these specifics. GA's daughter is currently lving in Vancouver and attending school there. According to the custody agreement she will visit her daughter in Vancouver every three weeks and spend three weeks there. The XF schedule is accomodating that.

We had heard months ago when GA said herewas no way she would do an 8th season and it was partly for personal reasons involving her daughter, I think it was because of this. She didn't want to be away from her and it may have already been decided that she would live in Vancouver. Now I guess she coud, and has been, accused of being greedy for more money but since she already was contracted for season 8 she had to stay regardless. CC has said that they are going to allow her more time with her daughter. So it looks like we will have more Scully lite eps although I heard she is supposed to appear in every episode.

They only aspect of this that could show her in a bad light is her signing for season 9. That seems to be only about trying to equal her pay with DD. And even though signing for yet another year seems slightly wrong to me if her main concern is Piper, I don't judge her decision. Besides, I'd be happy with more Scully in season 9.

If there is a season 9, and it's starting to look possible because the ratings have been pretty good for the SDP eps, my guess is Scully's involvement will be much less. It may depend on DD too who said he won't rule out season 9 on a similar part time basis like this year.

What are everyone's opinions on this?
