We're having fun watching this but, somehow, it seems a bit more "dated" than the similarly-themed "Remington Steele" from the same era. Maybe it's because there are more pop culture references in "Moonlighting" which, I'm sure, we understood at the time but which kind of leave us baffled 25 years later! (And make the show less appealing to our teenage daughter, as it's referencing stuff that happened before she was born.)

It's fun to occasionally see stars who became "big" in the 1990s show up in small guest starring roles in this show. Last night's ep featured a pre-China Beach Dana Delaney.

What's funny about this and XF is, in both cases, the producers had to really "fight" for one of their stars. But it was flipped. With XF, the Fox execs were fine with casting David Duchovny as Mulder but had some deep misgivings about Gillian Anderson as Scully. With "Moonlighting" everybody was fine with Cybill Shepherd as Maddie Hayes, but weren't really on board with Bruce Willis as David Addison. In both cases, it was because nobody had ever heard of GA or BW before their respective shows brough them fame!
