OK, spoil me alittle if you need to prove your point, not that I'm arguing mind you. And wait a sec...Joss' commentary on Buffy S7??? I thought only S5 was out? You know his DVD comments before it's released? Now that's dedication.

I'm sure Joss (like so many others) has had network interference. I'm sure many plot turns were due to budget or accidents rather than JW's brilliance or incompetance. Happens all the time. DeNiro repeating "Are you talking to me?" was an improv & Scorsese was motioning to repeat as he thought the first one didn't read (Taxi Driver).

I see an arc of sorts and am damn glad. Spike is either the focus of an ep or just walks on as comic relief. And Harmony is now a regular? Guess that's cause of the lack of females in the cast & a bit of Joss loyalty. Now I heard a rumor that Willow is in one of the last few eps, true?

The senior partners are afraid of Illyria as Hamilton let slip. She's got to be the key to defeat W & H. Angel seems to have learned from her in this ep, something about ambition? Take the power & don't worry about the consequences? He's going to allow that woman to give her baby to the demons? My guess is he's going to pretend to play W&H's game so as to lull them into believing he's evil & then hit them covertly. The gang as it is now seems to just be Angel, Wes & Gunn with 4 goofy hangers on. A far cry from where we started.

I see next week is the search for Buffy that will not have Buffy in it. Sort of like Waiting for Godot? I would agree that Angel never came unto it's own. You can't be an Angel fan & not be a Buffy fan because you wouldn't understand what the hell's going on without full knowledge of Buffy's characters & events. I was trying to think of a spin off (non-sitcom) that lasted & came unto it's own...The Bionic Woman? Well, Joss got 2 shows to last 100+ eps, that's a success in my book. If Angel will negate the whole year, where will they be then? Back to having just beaten Jasmine? Cordy in a coma, Connor crazy but Fred still alive? And Spike back to being dead?

I saw an interview with Boreanaz from last year as S5 was about to debut. I know this was probably a promo thing so he can't be totally honest but he said he hated the Angel/Cordy romance & thought A/B was the way to go. I also saw a Connor interview (mr. super long name) said he thought his character's motives were contradictatory (he hates Angel but helps him out all the time) which I could agree with a bit. But regardless, it's JW's world. You or I can imagine better endings or plot twists but he's the one to actually do it. If it was my baby, I'd want as much control as possible as well.

Buffy & Angel remind me alot of Spiderman as heroes go. Spiderman often questions himself, wonders if he's doing the right thing. He often gets into a situation where he can't prevent others from being hurt especially his friends and loved ones. He had a girlfriend die by the hand of one of his villians and blames himself for that. B/A are very similar although at times one looks to all three and says "enough with the doubt, aren't you used to this crap by now?" But then, we'd have an ultra professional hero without conflict & that's boring (see Superman or Batman).
