Especially the digs at the Moneyball philosophy that was discussed. As Peter McNichol's character mentioned, as a Dodger fan he knew all too well about Moneyball and it didn't please him. This subject has been discussed at great length among Dodger fans becasue our new GM is the protege of the Oakland A's GM--whom Don mentioned in the epsiode, and they use the Moneyball system which relies purely on stats and doesn't take into account things that happen in baseball that can't be put into numbers such as the emotion of the game and team chemistry. McNichol's character talkd about this. Our new GM is trying to turn the Dodgers into a Moneyball team and it's pissing some of us off! That's oen reason my favorite player--Dave Roberts--was let go. He's a primo base stealer and according to moneyball basestealing isn't an important part of the game. Ha! It just happened to win the Red Sox the World Series--thanks to Dave!
So that aspct fascinaed me to hear someone who agrees with me about the unfeeling aspects of Moneyball and sabermetrics.

I thought it was a very interesting episode incorporating how scary something like what Jonas was doing could be. The fact that the victim was unlikeable is nothing new. Most of the victims on CSI aren't nice people. But murder is murder and it's wrong.

I personally don't care if the women have large roles from week to week or not. I think Charlie, Don, Dad and even Charlie's physicist bud who's beginning to grow on me, is enough. If a show is designed to have primarily all male characters then that's its premise and it's fine with me. I have enough trouble absorbing Charlie's math explanations to worry about any non work relationships on the show! I don't know that the show has room for it. They have to have a case and the personal stuff focuses on the Dad which is something a bit different. Just about every other show on tv has to include the men/women relationship sub plot. It's nice to have one of the few that doesn't with Numb3rs.
