Subject: The new female agent on NCIS

Got this off the NCIS boards; "Bellisario" is Donald Bellisario, the show's producer. Comments from me at the end,

Bellisario would also like the new character's personality to be different from Kate's. "Sasha's character was basically well-educated, American, Roman Catholic-raised, kind of uptight sexually, and I want to go the other way. I want to go for a European or Australian girl who is very comfortable with her femininity and sexuality and can come at Tony from a totally different direction than Kate did."

What bothers me about this Is that the NCIS crew will now basically consist of nobody (except maybe the elderly Ducky) who takes a conservative view of sexuality. Even Kate didn't exactly follow Catholic teachings on this subject -- she'd had at least one sexual relationship outside of marriage, probably several -- but she at least made a case for having sex in the context of relationships and not jumping into bed with people on the first date. Now we'll have Tony and Abby -- who've already made it clear they're big fans of casual sex -- and this new girl. Plus McGee, who doesn't say much about sex but seems to do it more than the rest of the crew put together. All led by the thrice-divorced Gibbs. Apparently, Bellisario believes women who have sex with multiple partners are "comfortable" with their femininity, but those who choose to have sex only in the context of loving, longterm relationships are "uptight sexually."
I'm sure by the standards of Hollywood this is absolutely "normal" behavior but, realistically, there actually *ARE* people in this world who don't think sex should be treated in such a cavalier fashion.
