What do you want to bet he does the WWII Wonder Woman so he can kill off her true love and have her all broody and emotionally damaged and such?

I do like Mal. I very much enjoyed him putting Jayne in the air lock. I love all of the Serenity Crew, actually, but I don't want Summer to be bitty Buffy. Somehow it lacks interest for me for her super power to be butt kicking. And despite my lukewarm attachment to them, I'm not sure the Serenity crew is quite as wonderous as Whedonites want them to be.

The show had some real problems and it died for a number of very good reasons that had nothing to do with mean ol' Fox executives. Beyond that, I'm not sure JW can resist doing his Greek Tragedy shtick again...who will die? Book? Zoe? Wash? The first is expendable...either of the other ones will give us that BIG mourning lost love moment.

I really don't have lots of faith in JW anymore. I think he is talented but crippled by his insistence on using the same trite melodrama over and over and over again. Jenny, Angel, Joyce, Tara, Cordy, Spike, Fred, Wes, Angel yet again...sigh! So who did he kill off in X-Men?

Basically, Serenity needs to rock the house, if JW expects to keep getting big projects. Angel pulled a 2.6 before it was cancelled. The ratings were dropping off steadily and wouldn't have gone back up if it weren't for the cancellation announcement. Firefly, as I said, was far too quirky and really...just bad 1/2 the time.

As for X-Men...I hear good things and I recently purchased the first Graphic Novel for the library. Beyond that I wouldn't doubt JW has done a good job with X-Men. He is in his element with the graphic format...his work on Buffy was full of strong images and snappy dialogue and he knows how to do a cliffhanger better than anyone.
