Subject: Goodbye, Saint Bud!

I'm in shock they are getting rid of Saint Bud! Did Patrick's contract not get renewed, or is he taking time away to work on directing or other projects? Either way, it looks like this will be his last season, as it will be rather difficult for him to remain an active member of the US military with a crippling injury - no matter how unfair that seems. As this show has pointed out before, any member of the Navy may be called upon at any time to pick up a weapon and defend their country, even JAG lawyers. How can they possibly work his character in on a regular basis when he's getting a medical discharge from the Navy??

As for Bud's role in the Navy--he won't be allowed to go back on the carrier, but from what I understand, there's no reason he won't be able to continue practicing law. It will be interesting to see what they come up with. -- Katherine, 14:55:55 05/22/02 Wed
