A voice from the back of the auditorium silenced the crowd, (ordinarily, I would stop here and let someone else take over, but I'm scared, very scared.), it was Pearl the Werehorse. She whinnied (in of course, a comprehensible form) "It was me! I put Michy in a trance because I...." (and here I risk the limited sanity of the story.)
