I was driving. First mistake. And I didn't know where I was going, exactly, and it was getting closer and closer to concert time, and we still weren't there. And then I saw this map/diagram thing sort of off to the side kind of, so I WHIPPED the car over to it, but I still could not make it out (it was dark and my headlights weren't hitting it) and so.... 2nd mistake. I got out of the car to look closer, and apparently that not only is one the stupidist things I've ever done, but also illegal. So then a police car w/ lights and all car pulls up (to the utter glee of my children) and I suppose I looked distressed enough (and STUPID enough) that he felt sorry for me. I told him I had a car full of screaming kids and we were about to miss Barney and I didn't know where I was or how to get there. He just looked at me and said, "Follow me." He took me INTO the parking lot of the place. SO NICE.
BTW, we made it on time. But here's a question that came up. If a policeman says follow me, and he is going over the speed limit. Are YOU supposed to got over the speed limit, too? LOL! I was thinking. Oh great. Now when we stop, he's going to give me 800 traffic tickets. He just flashed his lights and waved. I bet he had kids. -- Luoodles, 23:31:02 05/28/01 Mon
LOLOLOL!!! What a story! And I know exactly what you mean...they're a bunch of HYPOCRITES I tell ya! There's a street in my city where you aren't supposed to block the driveway on the side, so ya gotta wait for the light change behind this sign...and it's REALLY close to a police station too! But I've NEVER seen a cop follow the BIG signs...EVER! LOL! -- Canrane, 18:16:55 05/29/01 Tue
I don't know. This guy was acfully nice. There are good guys and bad guys in every walk of life. I've had good experiences w/ police, and one VERY bad experience w/ a detective. People are people, no matter what their job. -- Luoodles, 17:37:22 05/30/01 Wed |
