-The Rousing of the Ents. in the Movie, the way its done is quite hasty (though more climatic), and the Ents from the book are FAAAAR from hasty.

I liked that difference though. If the Ents were as slow as they were in the book, then it would've just been too boring to watch and the movie would've dragged IMO. One important thing to keep in mind when converting a story to the big screen is to keep things moving at a certain pace before you start boring the audience.

-Faramir's character is FAAAAAAAAr Different from the book's. Theoden is also rather different.

Yeah, I didn't like the way Faramir was portrayed either -- he was far too much of a Boromir clone. The main thing that's supposed to separate Faramir from Boromir is that Faramir's meant to be far more immune to the temptation of the Ring.

I thought Theoden was portrayed pretty well -- more exaggerated and strong willed, but overall pretty cool.

I wanted to see Shelob's Lair though... I still reckon they should've cut down those soppy Arwen scenes and left in the last chapter of the book. Obviously it will be shown in the beginning of Return of the King, since Gollum makes references to Shelob at the very end of the movie ("she will kill them..."). Ah well.
