So Peter decides he's going to buy a car. Fat chance with the cost of a nice set of wheels. Ben and Peter have that famous chat of "With great power comes Great resposiblity." Peter then enlists himself in a wrestling match, and gets named Spider-man. The wrestler is knocked out with less then two minutes, Peter was trapped in the cage with him. The owner gives Pete a hundred dollars. Then as the young man is leaving, a theif breaks in and Peter lets him escape. However to Peter's misery the theif capped his Uncle, and stole Ben's car.Pete takes off after the theif and learns how to swing, think urban tarazan effects.
Peter corners the theif, and realizes it's the same jerk that he let get away. He freaks, and the theif takes a fall, and breaks his neck. Meanwhile Norman learns that his scientest is dead. Back to Peter and Harry, they are graduating, and Harry talks about getting a place for the two of them. Norman goes over and congradulates Peter, while Harry sees MJ break up with Flash.
Peter is really upset that his uncle has died, but he's determined to live up to the challenge and the powers that he has. A wonderful montague of sequeces follows with Spiderman catching criminals all over the place. He's adopted that "Your Friendly neighborhood Spiderman" monkier, and leaves the notes behind. Peter tries to sell photos of himself, and J. Jonah Jameson winds up telling him that his work is "Crap, Crap, Crap, Mega Crap." (Lines straight from Ultimate Spiderman) JJ eventually does give Peter a freelance Job. When Pete bumps into MJ he learns that she's dating Harry, who hasn't told Peter yet.
Pete goes back to his apartment with Harry, and Norman is there. There's been another attack at the Quest facility. Norman is still atleast partly normal at this point. We also get a nice nod to Dr. Kurt Conars (The lizard) who has fired Peter. Seems he's been late once to often. Wonder why? ;)
Norman's board, when he gets back to the office, tells him that the company is selling out to Quest and they want him to resign. That doesn't boad well for Norman, and the Green Goblin attacks at the World Unity fair. Spider-man comes to the rescue, but gets beaten up in the process. (By the way if you don't blink you can catch Stan Lee making his Cameo apperence in this sequence.) Spidey saves MJ, Harry gets knocked out, and the board members bite it.
Norman becomes really scared when he learns of the death of the boardmembers, and we finally see the Goblin come out in full force. (A mirror plays an excellent part in this scene)The Goblin then goes out after Spiderman, at the Bugle. JJ is scared out of his wits, and Spidy is knocked out with gas by the Goblin. Greenie takes Spidey to a roof top and tries to get him to make a deal with him. Spider-man refuese.
Later, after the athorities are getting all bent out of shape, a fire breakes out, and Spidey saves a baby. He goes back in thinking there's a woman in there, but it turns out to be. (And if you haven't guess it, you really haven't been paying attention to the movie) the Green Goblin once more. They fight, and Spidey once again refuses the offer. Top that all off he gets cut by one of the Goblins batarangs.
Harry, MJ, Aunt May, are waiting for dinner, and Norman, and Peter. Norman arrives first, and it's become obvious that the Goblin personality has taken over. Norman actually eyes up MJ, and Peter nearly gets caught. Then when Peter comes and sits down to dinner, Aunt May notices a cut on his arm. Norman freaks out and leaves, telling Harry to Dump MJ. Back at his mansion the Goblin instucructs Osborn to attack Peter personally to get rid of him. The Goblin goes after Aunt May, and she is put in the hospital. (Prior to all of this there's a sequence where Spidey saves MJ in the rain.)
MJ comes by and confides to Peter that she's falling for Spiderman. Harry comes by, and sees the two holding hands, and thinks that MJ has feeling for Peter. He goes back to his Dad's house. Norman feels sorry for his son and wants to make things better with him. He then goes ahead and kidnapes MJ taking her to Queensboro bridge. Mary Jane freakes out, as the Goblin snaps the cable to a tram. Spiderman comes to the rescue. (Like the sling shot he makes) and the Goblin makes him choose between MJ and the tram. He drops them both, and Spidey is able to catch the tram wire and MJ. He talks her into climbing down. But the Goblin isn't through yet and attacks them. People on the bridge start throwing things at the Goblin, leaving Spidey time to drop MJ and Tram onto a barge.
Green Goblin comes back after Spidey and knocks him though a old wall. A huge fight ensues, and this is really par excellent fighting. Goblin threatens to kill Spiderman, then he's going back after MJ. That just pisses Peter off and he goes after the Goblin at full force, knocking a wall onto him. Spidey pins him to a wall and I think he was mad enough to kill the Goblin. When Norman pulls off the Mask and begs Peter to help him. Peter doesn't know what to say, but the Goblin isn't done, and he sics the glider on Spidey. Peter is able to doge it, but Norman is impaled on his own glider. He tells Peter not to tell Harry.
Spidey brings Norman's dead body, or apparently his dead body (were talking Norman "The comeback king of the Dead" Osborn here), back to his home. Harry catches Spider-man and threates him with a gun, but Spidey is gone. At the funeral Harry tells Peter that he's his only family, and that Spiderman will pay. (Can you say sequel?) MJ tells Peter that she loves him, but he can't say it back because he realizes that if he does she could get hurt again, and he doesn't want that to happen. However after kissing Peter, MJ may have just realized that Peter is Spiderman. Peter leaves and we are treated to an end of swinging amoung the buildings of New York.

Did I like this movie. Darn right I did. Will I go see it again. You better believe it. :) And we get a treat of The HULK preview in the coming attactions. :)
