I would suggest the Wilson Reading method. A tutor who specializes should be familiar with it. My 9 year old did very well with it. He has been in tutoring 2x per week for the last year and a half and hates it to. I think they hate it because they think they are the "only" ones who need it. He has come a long way. I am starting to resort to bribing him. If he goes willinnly and participates to the best of his ability he can play 15 minutes of a video game. If he refuses to participate he does not get to play no matter whta time he finishes his homework.
