 That is the problem right there. Good marks do not mean he is keeping up. He just hides it well. Like many kids who go through school illeterate. I know he isn't keeping up but the report cards are not based on one standard but rather his own efforts and attempts. He finds ways around things and I've been told his report card does not reflect the severity of his problem. When he reads a book out loud he guesses most of the words but guesses them right

However the fact that he feels stupid and has expressed the wish to disapear in my mind makes the problem severe irrespective of what level reading he currently is at.
