I hear you. The pdoc has put me on Lamictal, which is slowly having some positive effect. Not life-changing, but still-it's a move forward. I spent most of our Friday session crying because I am afraid to get better. The reason? This is my fourth major depression. The latest episode has lasted close to two years. To get better means risking getting worse again. And I don't want to risk the fall again. The positive emotions feel good, but scary; how long will they last before I tumble again? I find that when I have found a good medicine and start feeling 'better', it often takes 3-6 months for me to 'accept' that I'm feeling better and that it is sticking around. It's not fun, but it's relatively normal, I think. Take care.
