It sounds like you are doing great considering the external and internal situations you face right now. I can't imagine. I really admire your resolve, your positive statements. On the subject of medication... they don't really alter your sense of reality in a "numbing" way, like alchohol. It is more like they clear some of the "trash" that goes around and around in your head, so that you can use your true reserves for living and solving problems, or simply very much of the time, just for coping. Medication was truly a miracle for me, and while I have had to recently switch medications, I am hopeful my new med will work for me. I still struggle. In fact, today is not such a good day. Is it my work situation (real), or my attitude (chemically lacking in serotonin)... probably a combination of both. Give meds a shot, if you feel weird or insane, then don't go that route.
