Bill,
What a great and insightful post. I can relate to the children issue and the companion animals. I am married to a very good man, so I am not completely alone, but I find myself so isolated because of this illness. Sometimes I just don't want to go on. P.C. sounds like a wonderful cat. There is nothing like a furry little thing snuggling in my lap to give me a little peace. Losing an animal is so hard. There is no way to prepare for it. It does get easier after time passes, I allowed myself to grieve quite openly, and I think it helped. On the children issue, at times I have felt "cheated"... but it has been my decision not to have children because so much of my energy has been directed to battling the depression. I do think about it every day, but have to trust that I made the right decisions for my own health. I loved your line about the swoosh of the wind through the trees. The closest I feel to a divine source is listening to the trees and the wind.

Thanks for your post.

Francie
