Good Lord Jonathan, what an exchange between you and your father, but atleast you have open lines of communication, my father has safety zones that no one in the family crosses, he handles only what he can handle and it's always been that way, in many ways, he does not know his own children and that the pain of not being able to really talk to him has resulted in some of the distance, I don't hate him and am not angry with him, he's suffered all of his life and he just can't deal with anything other than his own problems. That's the bottom line.
So I hope atleast through this communication, you can find some kind of middle ground with your father and that he reaches out to find that middle ground with you.
Glad your vacation was ok, Bush Gardens sounds great.
