I am now 67 years old and would like to e-mail any linotype operator to talk about their experiences. We had to look after our: clean the spacebands, oil the places that needed oiling once a week and also clean all our fonts. Every day before we started work clean the metal plunger with a steel brush and clean off the dross before setting the news.
