Subject: U17? Why didn’t they follow formula of odds from one split with evens from the other??

My even placed dancer is with an odd placed—both from the same split last year. Any idea how they figured splits? Can’t be WMH since it did not happen…just wondering…

[> If any of last year's dancers have quit or didn't register for this year, it will throw the even/odd thing off for a portion of the splits. It shouldn't matter really. We are quite literally the only region that splits competitions for the 'O.' -- Dance Mom, 08:15:11 11/04/21 Thu (mta-98-29-135-211.columbus.rr.com/98.29.135.211)

This is especially true for the top placements.

[> [> [> Yes, but they can't follow an absolute even/odd split unless every dancer returns. If 7th place quit, 8th place might be placed into the "Odd" split rather than the "even." But again, at the end of the day, it shouldn't matter that much. In other regions your dancer would have to compete against ALL the dancers you don't want her going up against. Not just the ones you seem to be worried about. -- Am I wrong?, 10:36:42 11/04/21 Thu (mta-98-29-135-211.columbus.rr.com/98.29.135.211)

[> [> [> Splitting the O is about as goofy as splitting NANs. If our numbers are that high, then split the region. At the end of the day it’s a World qualifier. THat used to mean something. Now it’s so watered down, but everybody wants a trophy. -- ., 22:50:35 11/11/21 Thu (NoHost/172.58.56.43)

[> [> [> [> The splits don't increase NQs/WQs. The only thing that increases are the # of people on podium. DD was never in a split competition at our 'O,' & probably never will be but I don't see the harm. It would make sense to have Pittsburg in MidAtlantic, but otherwise, -- No need to split region., 12:24:55 11/12/21 Fri (mta-98-29-135-211.columbus.rr.com/98.29.135.211)

They take this year's registered dancers and order them according to where they placed in each split last year and then divide them every other one, with the odds in one split competing against the evens from the other.
