Subject: People will try to get in regardless so feis needs to be proactive but
In reply to: 's message, "Pittsburgh feisanna next weekend" on 18:05:20 09/19/20 Sat

I am really disappointed with their schedule and how many kids they have at our stage at a given time so I don't think safety is the priority with this feis.

PA guidelines are exactly that. A recommendation not a requirement. Feis stated early on that they were worried it could become a requirement but it has not and the numbers are actually down since then especially in the states you are concerned about. The southern region feises kept groups extremely small with single age groups, timed entries, temperature checks, enforced distancing, dancers on their own side of a stage and masks required so actually the double age groups in Pittsburgh are much larger. Kids have already been playing team sports, families have gone on vacations or business travel, many kids are back in school in person, and college students who have been living on campus are attending the Feis as well. Nothing is risk free but as an outdoor venue, as long as people wear masks, stay distanced ,don’t come if symptomatic, and are outside it should be fine.
