Elizabeth Bathory liked to torture/kill peasant girls, and later more upper-class young women. The stories about how she developed her obsession with blood vary, but most include her striking one of her servants for something a little blood landing on an exposed part of her body. She somehow thought this made the skin look younger.

Lizzie Lizzie Bathory's family line had a little in-breeding, as did most at the time, so she and a few of her relatives were a bit nutters.

Supposedly she was also a sadist lesbian who derived pleasure from bleeding her victims dry, but that's most likely vampire erotica mistaken for fact. Her husband, who she married at a very young age, was absent most of the time.

What she did to the girls is also quite colored by myth. Some say she sliced the arteries on their wrists and neck, then hung their bodies upside down until they had no blood left. Others claim she kept them alive for long periods of time, constantly poking/prodding them with pins and such. It seems to be a favorite addition to many Bathory stories that when she was discovered, the party sent to investigate found a girl alive with all sorts of piercings in her body.

When her activities were discovered, reportedly several bodies were strewn about her mansion and the surrounding grounds. All historians (or psuedo-historians, as the case may be) agree that her arrest and the resulting trial were geared more toward seizing her land than administering justice. She killed the daughters of a few nobles and something around 600 peasant girls, but the daughters were more important to the court. She was imprisoned in her own home, most disagree on whether in her room or a closet.

Then she died. The end, have a lollipop.


p.s. Semi-important Silver news: I'll be skipping a grade next school year. This means 11 years of education instead of the usual 12 for most people. Make of that what you will.
