The heat is almost unbearable, therefore no person would go looking down there. Therefore, only the toughest dragons would be there. And that is what Mike is after...   • After many seemingly endless minutes, maybe even hours, the atmosphere around Mike begins to change. The tunnels and caves grow larger, and the air carries a distinct tint of sulfur in it.   • OOC: So sorry about the wait! BIC: The cave is dark. Loud scuffling noises can be heard on the opposite end. After a few moments, however, they start to fade and become quieter until all is silent again except for the steady dripping of water echoing from somewhere in the mountain. • Mike Drago hears it fade and begins to run after the sound. He had looked too long for this dragon for it to get away! The only problem is Mike can't see very well and runs into a wall. Mike mutters to himself and walks quickly after the noise. (NT) -- Mike Drago, 17:55:02 07/27/02 Sat
  • A very faint sound of something hard being rubbed against rock can be heard up ahead, echoing slightly. Mike suddenly realizes that he is following a tunnel. The light grows dimmer until it is almost pitch black. The tunnel goes on for a long time, until it abruptly opens up into a larger area. As far as Mike can tell, the dragon is not there. • The dragon lifts its head and stares at Mike. His scales glint a dusty red in the half-light. • The dragon snaps its immense jaws once before opening them wide and sending a stream of hot fire out in Mike's general direction. The cave lights up momentarily in the bright light of fire. (NT) -- Fate, 19:29:58 09/09/02 Mon

• The creature tries to move out of Mike's way, but its large bulk is hard to move. Instead it moves its tail between Drago and itself, whipping it through the air. (NT) -- Fate, 14:36:07 09/21/02 Sat
• Mike is like a charging bull toward the dragon. The tail in the air is the least of the his worries. He gets out a bag for the purpose of distracting the dragon. It is simply sand, but when put in the eyes can be very effective for blinding the dragon. Mike opens the bag and tosses it at the eyes of the dragon and attempts to get onto the dragon's back... • The dragon rears up, it's head brushing the ceiling, and claws at its eyes, trying to dislodge the sand. It howls with annoyance, and lets out another stream of fire. (NT) -- Fate, 07:02:28 09/25/02 Wed
• This time, Mike is not so lucky. The fire, although Mike is able to dodge it, cause even the leather he wore to burst into brilliant flame. Mike hurredly roals to smuther the flames, but in that time the dragon is clearing his eyes. Seeing no way to get on top of the dragon, he draws his blade and stands to begin a terrible battle. • Soon the dragon finishes clearing its eyes. It lowers his claws and hisses at Mike, jaw working. Suddenly it reaches out with a front claw and picks him clear off the ground. It shakes him vigorously, paw firmly around Mike's middle. It pulls the sword out of his hand by its other paw and drops it on the ground. (NT) -- Fate, 10:39:29 10/11/02 Fri
• "Noooo!" Mike yells as the dragon takes ARANGOTOTH from his hands. At first, Mike has no idea what to do. He reaches despirately into his tunic, looking for anything that might save him. All he can find is a ham Mike had wanted for his lunch, but under the circumstances... He hurls the ham toward the dragon, hoping his plan would work... (NT) -- Mike Drago, 18:24:49 10/12/02 Sat
• The ham hits the dragon squarely on the head, and it growls in exasperation. It takes a deep breath in through its nose, preparing to flame again, and stops. It sniffs. Lowering its head, it looks around until it locates the ham lying on the ground. Opening its mouth, it delicately picks the meat up in its jaws and finishes it in one bite. • Mike Drago sees this as an opportunity. "See, it's all right. I'm not here to slay you. I've got a whole flock of sheep at home ready for you to eat. We can fight more, or we can eat. • The dragon lifts its head and stares at Mike. Slowly it moves its paw and sets him on the ground. It reaches its head forward until its nose is an inch away and takes a giant sniff. Mike's clothes ruffle as if in a heavy breeze. Suddenly strange emotions rush into Mike’s mind; curiosity and an overwhelming hunger. One faint word comes along with it: Emperion. • Mike understands what is going on. The dragon is communicating with him. "Emperion eh? The name is Mike. Mike Drago. I'm not lying about the sheep. I won't hurt you, but would you mind giving me back my sword? Then lets go to my place and eat. I've even got a clearing where you can...eh...cook. What do you say?" • Emperion rolls its eyes. Mike gets the impression that it doesn't want sheep. He picks up the sword in one large paw and hands it to Mike. Then it lumbers out of the cave and down a tunnel, showing Mike to the surface. OOC: Congrats! You just got you're dragon partner. You can now role-play it. Please note that you will feel impressions and emotions from your dragon, but seldom any words. Now that it is no longer wild, he will want to eat only Fireweed - stuff you can get from the Clearing. • OCC: Finally!!!!!! BIC: Mike turns to the dragon and says, "Mind if I ride you?" An impression of how to get on him properly comes to his mind. There was also an impression of the result of what would happen if he did it wrong. Mike got onto the back of the massive dragon, and the dragon spread its magnificent wings and flew into the air.
