• The female dragon appears to be extremely irked that the male didn't leave at once. A deep breath is taken in, when she emits an ear-splitting roar, that seems to shake the whole cavern. The male seems stiffen his resolve to not be pushed around, and gives a roar of his own, easily as loud as the female's. Once the echos fade away, they just stand there, glaring at eachother, each waiting for the other to back down, each seeming to get more upset with the other for every moment of delay. Nadia's quite forgotten amid their quarrel, and her music goes unheard. (NT) -- Fate, 07:17:58 04/07/03 Mon
• Nadia continued to play as she thought to herself. "Hmm, I don't think it would be very smart to stay here, I think I will go search somewhere else." • The male notices Nadia leave, and the sound of claws on stone is heard, followed by the nose of the green male poking around the corner. A big sniff of curiousity is followed by the sound of the great weight of the female laying down in the cavern, and the male quickly withdraws his nose. A quiet hiss is heard, and the male walks in the opposite direction of the female. The cavern Nadia has entered is in shadows, and not as big as the one she just left. • OOC: Welcome back! BIC: Upon closer inspection, the cavern proves to be empty, save for a few small bats huddled together in a corner. Besides the way Nadia came in, it appears to have no exits at first, but around a ridge of rock, a small tunnel is just visible. It's high up, and appears to be just big enough to squeeze through, but it looks like it opens up just past the entrance. The climb up to it is short, but looks fairly difficult, with hand and foot holds being few. After the look around, the air seems suddenly quiet, and the reason becomes clear quickly when it's broken by what can only be a loud dragon snore. • Nadia decided to give the tunnel a try despite the fact that it was hard to climb up and she had no experience climbing. -- Nadia, 15:45:28 10/15/03 Wed
• The climb proves difficult indeed, but after a lot of effort, and a few sticky situations, Nadia just manages to make it. If the previous cavern was dark, this tunnel makes it look as brightly lit as noon on a cloudless day in summer. Despite the small opening leading to it, the height of this tunnel is well above Nadia's head. It's hard to make much out in the darkness, but the sounds speak volumes. Aside from the occasional sound of dripping water and the sound of Nadia's breathing, all is quiet. In fact, it's possible to hear the quiet rustling of the group of bats in the previous cavern. • Nadia felt very anxious to find a dragon that she could hopefully win over, so, keeping her right hand on her sling, she continued down the tunnel quickly but carefully, examining each little corner and crevace she could, making sure she wasn't going to be suprised. • Eventually Nadia realizes that the headache is not all due to frustration. Dimly she hears the rhythmic sound. Listening closely, she realizes which direction it is coming from. • "Well, dead end. No dragons here." She turns around and goes back to where she started. "Hmm, where would a dragon be?" She looked around and saw a large opening. • The passage has a damp floor, and there appears to have been a small rivlet of water flowing down it only a short time ago, probibly the source of the pool in the lower cave. A cool breeze passes gently along it towards the pool. At the other end of the passage there appears to be a large cavern, more brightly lit than most of the caverns. • When Nadia heard the heavy breathing, she soon felt the most fear that she had ever felt in her life. She was even too scared to run away. Ever so slowly, she tiptoed towards what she thought was a dragon, her hands trembling as she held the sling and a rock. • Nadia falls just short of the cavern, and from her position she can see it fully. It is lit by a small crack in the roof, from which water drips, though it's likely that it pours from the crack when it rains outside. From its light, it's easy to see that the cavern is indeed very large, perhaps equal to the main cavern back home. But the most eye-catching part of the cavern is the dragon, a dark green one that's on the smallish side, fast asleep to one side of the cavern.   • The dragon cocks his head at Nadia (for, now that he's awake, it's aparent by his mannerisms that he's a he), when the sound of claws on stone attracts his attention to a large tunnel behind him. Out of it another dragon comes with apparent suddeness. The little green male appears to be a meer dragonet compared her large, black form. Spotting Nadia, she gives a look of surprise, but her main focus is on the male. A small hiss of irritation comes from her mouth as she eyes him, not liking him being here.   • A tunnel opens wide before her. The lamp that Erim holds illuminates enough of it for her to see that it has a high ceiling and rough walls. The tunnel ends abruptly after a short ways, opening into a small cave. Several other tunnels lead off of the cave. (NT) -- Fate, 11:54:55 01/25/03 Sat

"The domain of the dragons is certain to be found near the center of the volcanoes, yet they must have access to the surface..." Erimani muses. • Suddenly, a deep rumbling is heard through the cavern, seeming to come from all directions at once. Another follows, this sounding a bit lower and clearer, and is just identifiable as a dragon roar from far below the cavern. • OOC: Yay! BIC: The tunnel is long and winding, steeply sloped downwards, and in places quite narrow, certainly not a tunnel that a dragon could use. But after going some distance down the tunnel, a faint sound is heard, but it's not identifiable until Erimani is further down the tunnel and it repeats, and sounds like a rather frustrated sigh from a rather large frustrated individual.   • There is a momentary check in Erimani's stride as she does some rapid thinking. Though cautious, she is resolute, unafraid. Even in the worst case, (Perhaps the dragon is frustrated about the lack of available mealstuff,) her edge should afford her the chance to escape. So close. As it is, she cannot do any more planning, but she continues down the tunnel towards the singular noise, making no sound to mark her own passage. Near the opening she sets the lamp down on the smooth floor, leaving both hands free to wield the staff, and looks around with sharp eyes to assess the situation. • From just inside the tunnel, the cavern takes a moment to make out, for it's rather dark inside of it, especially without the full light of the lamp. It is, however, not completely dark, for some phosphorescant algae is growing on the far end of it. The cavern is large and nearly circular, perhaps the length of 5 good-sized dragons. Speaking of good-sized dragons, there's one next to the wall to Erimani's left. It seems preoccupied on a large dragon-sized tunnel in front of it that seems to lead further into the mountain. He is dark of skin and hard to see in little light, but the glint of his scales shows him to be pacing back and forth in front of the tunnel, apparently in a state of great agitation, though there's nothing seeable in the tunnel beyond him.   • Erimani considers the sight of the dragon with a long indrawn breath, impressed with the power expressed in its movements. Somehow even the words of dragon-lore fall short in their attempt to describe the sheer intensity of a free dragon. I am taking my place in an ageless pattern, she realizes, A pattern played out by untold individuals before me, but each encounter is no less profound than the first. She gives a peculiar smile. Or less perilous. She will not let admiration cloud her wits.Marking the dragon's agitation, Erimani decides that it would be extremely unwise to make any sudden startling moves. She takes up the clay lamp, holding it before her with a remarkably steady hand, and begins approaching the dragon, her steps slow and measured, her eyes watching for the first sign of reaction. • Mike is like a charging bull toward the dragon. The tail in the air is the least of the his worries. He gets out a bag for the purpose of distracting the dragon. It is simply sand, but when put in the eyes can be very effective for blinding the dragon. Mike opens the bag and tosses it at the eyes of the dragon and attempts to get onto the dragon's back... • Emperion rolls its eyes. Mike gets the impression that it doesn't want sheep. He picks up the sword in one large paw and hands it to Mike. • OCC: Finally!!!!!! BIC: Mike turns to the dragon and says, "Mind if I ride you?" An impression of how to get on him properly comes to his mind. There was also an impression of the result of what would happen if he did it wrong. Mike got onto the back of the massive dragon, and the dragon spread its magnificent wings and flew into the air. • Raven digs furiously into the bag and brings out another of the small balls. She steps back and swings her arm to get momentum. The sphere rises into the air in a perfect arch and lands on target straight into the dragons wide open mouth. Like before it explodes upon impact, clogging the throat with dampining dust.   • The cavern is filled with an earsplitting roar, but no fire emits from the gaping mouth. The dragon begins to hack and sputter in an attempt to free it's throat of the imparing dust, but to no avail. It begins to thrash around, stamping in anger and frustration, it's midnight-blue scales glinting in the dim light of the cave. • Raven sprints to the edge of the cave, a bit startled by the violent reaction. She takes a moment to collect her wits and then slowly approaches the dragon again, making calming noises. "Shh, it's okay." Nervously she inches closer, trying to avoid the thrashing limbs. "It will go away in a minute, just calm down." She reaches out and lays a hand on the dragon’s thick hide.   • At first the dragon seems to not notice the girl approaching, still thrashing about in rage and frustration (and nearly hitting Raven in the process). Combination of voice and touch bring the dragon's attention back to the girl. She (it's a girl dragon) swings her head around and focuses one large, slitted eye on Raven. The dragon is of medium size, and apparently doing nothing but lying there. It hasn't yet noticed the girl who is at the entrance near its left hind leg.
