Eddie was NEVER in charge of signing players ! He was a great owner, much better than the one we have now but he was never the GM and probably knew very little about player personnel or football in general.Walsh took care of all that for Eddie and Walsh has trained Donahue for 3 years to be in charge now. SO let's give him some time and see if he signs any more free agents(he already signed a speedy wide receiver from the Canadian league)and see who we pick up in the draft before you start calling for his head ! He and Walsh have put together a pretty darn good team over the last few years and Donahue chose a great coach(Erickson)to lead the Niners to the next level,so be happy that with just a few additions through free agency and the draft the Niners will be challenging for the Super Bowl this season !!!And also be happy that Donahue is spending a lot of his time and the Niners money on keeping our own free agents in S.F. instead of letting them go elsewhere.
