Subject: 2002 McKinley High School Football Update!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get it while it's hot!!!!! Red-hot!!!!! White-hot!!!!! I just received a report on this year's upcoming McKinley High School football team, and it is an intriguing report, one that I shall commence to give details!! On the offensive side of the ball, Matt Mitchell happens to be the frontrunner for the starting QB job, but sophomore Kyle Shaffer and junior Adam Studeny happen to be making noise (Studeny started the 2nd half against Canada, a 38-7 win). Ryan Brinson may likely be the starting RB for the Bulldogs,he should be a great replacement for Tyler Everett and Shalamar Gilmer, we also need a fullback (remember the 4 TD's he had in the freshman game vs. Iggy, 3 run TD's 32 yds, 68 yds, and 73 yds, and a 91 yd KO return for a touchdown?)not bad for a soon to be sophomore, he started against Massillon weeks 10 and 12 and against Brunswick, it is a special boost for the special teams. Dorian Chenault is likely going to make the transition from TE to WR (good hands, his speed has improved, should be a threat offensively)though I will miss the steel hands of Reggie Corner. The offensive and defensive lines are enjoying their success, thanks to their hard working ethic in the weight room, these lines may just be able to open holes for the ground game, and may be able to blow opponents off the line. But however, thanks to Everett, Yusef Abdul-Zahir, Tremaine Suggs, and the versatile Reggie Corner all graduating, the secondary is a ghost town, the Bulldogs need four young men to play the cornerback and safety positions. I will say this though: They do remind me of the Pittsburgh Steelers (not because I like the Steelers, so don't jump the gun)in a way: They can run the ball and open up holes, and tire defenses when the running game is churning yardage. Defensively, they are a bit young, and will have to mature as veteran Bulldogs if the Bulldogs are to make some noise in Stark County this year and to knock Massillon off the hill of Stark football. Expect the Bulldogs defensively to line up in 4-3 or a 5-2, more than their 3-4 they use. But I'll say about this team right now: they cannot get one-dimensional if the running game stops, so they will have to work to get the passing game going, it sure would be nice, it has fizzled the last several years but improved last season, somewhat, but they need to take it from the mega....to the omega. Now can they take it to the next level? We'll find out between mid July and late August.......for now I'll keep fans posted on the Running Dawgs and will be back for any news that occurs with the Canton McKinley Bulldogs......1981, 1997, and 1998 state champions!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. SEASON TICKETS go on sale at the Field House on May 13th and will continue until the first week of the high school football season. GlenOak tickets are $6.00 (GlenOak home game), Massillon tickets are $6.50 (at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium, Home of the Massillon Tigers) and the Cleveland St. Ignatius tickets are still in the works. Student books are at $33.50 while the adult tickets are $38.00. Come 2-a-days and week 1, the road to the Super Bowl of Football......Canton, Ohio and the Pro Football Hall of Fame Field at Fawcett Stadium will begin. 15 weeks.......will the BULLDOGS be there in week 15 playing for the coveted Division I state trophy???????????

One last note: McKinley is in Region 3 this year. Expect the Bulldogs to play a Columbus football power IF the Bulldogs see week 11. GO BULLDOGS.......STRAIGHT 2 CANTON.....I have exams to take now..........over and out!!!
