WOW amazing. i want to watch our seniors farewell. I really think I will cry. We should really have a reunion. The last farewell was to mark our leavin after 2 years together. Now After 3 years. Some have graduated and moving on to yet another phase in life. The guys have just started yet another phase too(post NS uni phase). It really is amazing. It is interesting to see how we all have changed as people both physically, intellectually, emotionally and even spiritually.
REALLY looking forward to seeing you guys over break. I should be back in the middle of june. :) Take care guys. SDBF HERE WE COME!!!

Think all your exams shld be over by now bah...was just tidying up my room when i found the videotape of our first year snr's farewell...in surprisingly good condition! haha and i played it a few times...quite funny heh really laughed till pengZ...especially the girls' and guys' dances and greg and lawrence's "short and senseless"...and also our "Only love" performance!..haha..
*sigh beginning to feel old already.....will be officially graduating in 2 months time...too bad can't give u all a treat so soon coz i wun be starting work till sometime in Novemember i think..

Was feeling bored~ Nothing much to do at home (Or rather I'm choosing to do nothing at home) and feeling rather lazy.. The afternoon being so damn bloody HOT! I swear I'm seeing heat waves smoking up on the roads!
Having my intra-semester break right now.. Down to the last few days.. Sem1 starting this upcoming monday, BUT i'm greedy. I want a longer break. Getting burned out from the assignment, tests and exams routine. I got a bad headache from even reading the Unit Guide just now! Geeesh.. i'm quite amazed how i can even get a headache from reading a welcome note from the unit chair! Amazed~ Those notes must have radiated an opressing stress wave that gets people like me stressed.
Anyway, I was just glancing through our archives earlier on. Again, i'm amazed by how active and YOUNG and full of energy we were.. Quite amused. =) Actually to think about it, we ARE young! Don't let the pressures of the adult world weigh us down frens! Gambate!
Which also means, I must make myself useful and get out of the sticky situation soon. =D

To be truthful.. I totally forgot about this site! OMG! For a while.. =) Now that it came back to me, i think its an indication that i'll remember it for the next few weeks at least. Hahaha.. =)

wahaha yesterday my house was affected by the blackout.. dunno if you guys read in the papers but quite a coupla places in singapore last night kena blackout.. bukit batok cck, bukit timah etc.. i thought it was damn cool lah! hehe.. the whole neighbourhood was in darkness.. even streetlamps and traffic light.. then can see all the cars dunno to go anot at the intersection..then all the neighbours all armed with torchlights walking around at the pavement in their jammies... hahah.. was quite an experience.. luckily electricity came on again at 1230am.. juz in time for boston public haha

Once again... the NJC ALumni team has proven its mettle and ability by clinching the bronze medal in the mixed open category in the 21th Singapore River Regatta.
Losing out only to NJC and the Canadian team with only one training under its belt. ANd beating many other bigger, stronger teams with much more training.
This victory is testimonial to the potential and ability of its members. The rowers of the Mens open and women's open also performed exceptionally well, losing out in the end to much stronger opponents.

anw congrats to those who rowed today, esp in the mixed boat! imagine alumni boat beating nj team! woohoo... was pretty sad that i din get to row in the mixed boat as well (and also for not being able to take the group picture w u all at the end), but nonetheless i'm really proud of the women's boat, we did pretty well too! :) too bad we din haf time to train for the event, if not i'm sure we could haf gotten 2nd and qualify for the semis.. guys were good too! dun understand how come dun train but still can get good results every time ..

They don't have kayaking here one leh, they have sculling. But the famous ones are cambridge and oxford and other non-london universities. If you try to row in the river thames, you'll be rammed and killed by the tourist river boats confirm! anyway i joined the running club, shit, i thought i not bad, still can make it. wah KNN! the ang mohs ah - the more beer they drink the faster they bloody run. On sundays, you see these 50year old guys with pot bellies running all over the place and faster than you. even the girls are like damn fast. how cold is it over there? less than 5 degrees? Anyway, i have holidays from 12 Dec to 12 Jan, and from 19 mar to 26 apr and then coming back singapore from around 2 july to 30 sept. but shit man!! come back still gotta go attachment, wah sian man, but then i'll get to see you all and speak hokkien finally! Hey, maybe we can meet up somewhere in another country or something heh, not impossible. when are your holidays?
Go and take SAT lah, can one, there are many ways and many avenues to get what you want. don't have to go to like ivy league or anything, just a uni with a good dept concerning whatever you wanna study, kinda like greg. once you can secure a place, they can *technically* offer you the scholarship.

Yo, hey, yeah, the weather here like 8-12 degrees, still bearable with 2 layers on. shit man, i wish i was in USNA or something... but i guess its pretty ok here too i guess. For those who think london is like THE place to be. that's absolute crap. please don't like come here for holiday even, its polluted cold and the food is crap and expensive. About the food, is total shit, imagine you're in holland village MINUS the coffee shop and hawker centre, that's exactly like london...over-priced and prone to terrorist attacks. i wish i was back in singapore, i miss all the people and the food and the weather. the ang mohs here are generally quite slack, they don't do much work and they drink beer like no tomorrow. the "scenery" (i'm not talking about birds and trees) is total crap too, i rather go orchard road or zouk man. London is like famous for cheonging, but its too damn expensive man. The only thing cheap here is bread and milk so you can get drunk on moo juice very cheaply and easily. Anyway, the scholarship doesn't really pay for everything so gotta dig into savings. I'm lucky i saved a lot during the NS time, or else i'll be screwed. But yeah, a lot of blood, sweat and tears were paid for that award so i can't really complain much. Yeah well, that's my two cent's worth from over here. Hey guys... why suddenly so quiet? for about half a month already? Hmm.. I shall make some noise here then. My 1st phase of training is ending in 1 week's time and next week i'll be doing parasailing... for free!! cool rite? Not cool when u have a high chance of breaking bones. Weather here starting to freeze.. nights can become 10 deg... and yes.. i know lawrence is freezing away in london... how's everything there? Received all the mails about regetta and makes me really wanna row... but cannot... sigh. Over here they have really nice running trails so all i have to do is to fight the cold and the pneumonia which comes with it! Last week had an air show and yes.. my base houses the blue angels (navy aerobatics team) and they had the homecoming performance.. for free! Quite cool and we went in our flight suits so some of the americans thought we were part of the americans who flew the planes at the static displays! Until we pointed our singapore flag to them... duhz. Hear from u guys soon!

the NUS Wakeboard Club will be conducting an
Introductory Course on the 2nd and 4th of
December
The course is open to all - NUS students and non-
NUS students alike!
The course will include
- transport from Yio Chu Kang MRT to Punggol
Marina
- a brief Dry Land Demonstration on how to get
up on a WB, basic hand signals, etc
- 3 hour water time (4 people in a boat + a
Wakeboard Committee member in each boat to guide)
- a scrumptuous meal after the riding session
(yumyum :P)
- transport back to the train station
All of this is for the mere cost of $70!
($65 for Members of the Club)
Its a pretty good deal, and the course is sure
to be loads of fun!! Will get to meet many ppl,
including hunks in boardshorts and babes in
bikinis ;)

did not attend any lectures this week (actually, i did.. came in 20 mins late, and 20 mins later when there was a break, i zao-ed)
wanted to go riding on wed but the rain god didnt like me very much so it was all rainy and i cdnt wakeboard :(
been up REALLY late every night of the week so far
been eating alot of junk food - was watching top gun dvd with 2 friends, and I finished a BIG bag of twisties, marsmallows, peanut biscuit, OREOS, milk bar DAMN!!
haf not been logging in to record my temperature for the SARS temp taking exercise thingie and got NOTICES on my door from my RA (resident advisor :P)... so embarassing.. haha

What you can do also is to get a referal letter from the SAF dentist. You can get medical treatment at the major airbases or even at CMPB. You take this magical piece of paper to national dental centre or any hospital/clinic they give you, together with 11b and tada! free treatment. I did that with my flat foot and got free orthotics(shoe in-soles). Costs like 300 bucks! 100 pounds!!!

apparently, during the FREQUENT brushings WITH toothpaste, this molar of urs, was afraid of the toothpaste and uprooted itself during the duration of the cleaning. therefore, instead of being clean and sparkling white like the rest of its kind, retained its soiled exterior, much to the ignorance of its owner, you.
hope this aids those of u who, like myself are not inclined to this err... stuff..(see, i dun know wat to call it, so i jus call it stuff cos i got like a small vo....voc... vogabulerlee... u noe wat i mean ya?)

Eh siah la, i'm finally here in the imperial land of the queen mother. I walked into a REALLY fantastic and comprehensive porn shop the other day, it's got like everything from life-sized f*ckable dolls to like penis key-chains. Just opposite there's this shop established since 1834, selling nothing BuT umbrellas. All these i saw and more while shopping for bath towels and bed-sheets. Now, if you wanted to buy a bath towel in singapore where do you go? go NTUC or go neighbourhood za huo dian right? WTF MAN, i spent a whole day trying to find and ended up finding a 10pounds bath towel and marks and spencers which of course i didn't buy. You might as well go to orchard road to buy a pencil.
For all those with rascist inclinations, the place is crawling with indians but minus the bad BO thank god. They speak like those on 'mind your language' ... really! watch thursdays 11pm on central.
The weather's prety good abt 15-18 degrees. The sunshine is very very bright like as if the ozone layer has gone bust. but usually that's obscured by cloud so if you wanna make a rubber band powered vehicle run and hop, give it square wheels

sorry weiying... forgot to answer your questions! Showering is really a good form of relaxation after a day's work or some bad events... so showering to me is very important! And save water by getting a showerhead which doesn't spray 360 degrees lor!

yeah.. for awhile there i thot it was just my comp which din upload the new msgs.. heh..
anyway life is pretty hectic for me.. for most of us actually.. coz after the wakeboard and canoe polo IVPs.. then sch started and the workload is unbelievable.. then gotta train the new jnrs for both sports.. and it doesnt hep that the wakeboard club suddenly has SO many ppl interested.. its like.. 9-10 guys and a TRUCKLOAD of girls! hehe.. i guess the wakeboarding sport is reali picking up here in NUS....
work and wakeboarding aside.. i basically have no life. heh.. haf watched a coupla movies here and there but basically thats it!..
oh theres this wakeboard competition thingie next sun 21/9.. juz an open competition and some of my wb teammates and i just joining for fun.. seems pretty cool coz theres supposed to be alot of activities going on at the same time.. breakdance lah.. jet skiing.. shd be pretty shiok so if you guys are free go down to pasir ris beach yeah?

speaking of travelling.. i think i wanna go for exchange next year!! its going to be very competitive lah.. esp in law.. but this year i'll TRY to study hard so can apply for it.. was talking to some of the exchange students from UK/France/US.. theyre in wakeboarding.. then they say exchange is an experience of a lifetime lah.. so must go for it if i can :)
think i wanna go to US.. so fun.. then can visit alot of ppl.. fletch, greg and this ex-wakeboard teammate in NYU now..
anyway.. just to help you weiying:

(esp after training in dirty kallang/punggol water!)
how to save water ah -- switch off water when soaping lor. then try not to take too many showers a day (on a HOT day i can take up to 4 showers a day.. hehe! )

Hey weiying! Uni shiok rite? Anyway i'm not in fightertown lah... topgun freak! hehe! I've gotten my driving licence and a car and it's cheap man... $20 for licence and no need lessons.. somemore test is on auto car! And car registration $50++ (in USD of cos). Now i'm driving a Ford Thunderbird V8 engine 4.6L... nothing great just that the fuel consumption can kill.. Stuff here r freaking ex and guess wat... 4 of my wisdom teeth are due for extraction on 25th sep.. and from now till then LOBO!! ARGGGHH!!! sianzzz... Life here is very slow and it's a very different lifestyle from singapore... People are friendly over here and everywhere we go we gotta tip! for this 3 weeks here i've already spent over S$4000 (excluding the car)... madness rite? Anyway I've gotten my apartment with my colleague and i have my own room.. very nice and cosy place and the floor is totally carpeted! I've also bought my own full sized bed! Damn shiok!! If any of u guys free can come n visit me ok? Regards!!

we are approaching our wk 6 of the sem for us in NUS, and NTU's having their sem break now rite? it seems like this sem is gng to end soon..can't wait for the next break! Poor NUS students dun get to enjoy the one wk mid-term break. and i think at this moment many of us are preparing for the mid term tests etc.
oh no i think i sound very boring.
eh ya actually i AM really bored... i spend every waking hour thinking bout my sch work. it accelerates the ageing process! and because of my tues lesson 630-1030 pm, i miss one of the 2 canoe polo trainings of the wk. This means that i'm gng to grow OLD n FAT very fast!
eh ok enough rubbish.. so how's life for the rest of u? esp lawrence in UK and fletcher in fightertown? how's the new envt??????????
i'm itching to get out of s'pore...anybody wants to go travelling somewhere somewhen?

yupyup this sunday 31/8 is the Canoe Polo IVP at SMU Pool (just opposite my house!).. will be pretty fun coz last weekend the guys' game.... even when it was preliminaries to qualify for SEMIS, everyone's eyes were HOOKED on the game coz it was so damn exciting!! reali like in the movies that kind.. haha
anyway the girls' games will be around 11, and everything should end by 6... so if you guys are free juz stop by and support ok??
meijie (vice capt!!), weiying, jiahui, xueying and i are playing... including some ex-hc canoeists lynette and weiyi.. and loads of other ppl too (kwanho.. raymond..) so do come down at least to see see how canoe polo is like :)
people like ewen (yes, shawn) and ricky (yes, xinjie) will also be there coz they got thru the selections and are now juniors in the team lah... so will be a gd time to catch up :)

with regards to the earlier email sent out requesting for female paddlers, I'd like to clarify and confirm some details.
Firstly, on 31st August, we are required to send a 24-women boat down, combining both the alumni and the current year ones. We are still short of 7 paddlers. Please reply me if you're interested (girls only)
Secondly, 31st August is NOT a day for training. I'd like to clarify that it is a congregation of the various dragonboating clubs and it is like a mini competition.
The buoys are already laid out in Kallang. I'm not sure how big the scale is, but i guess it's pretty large. NO medals involved though.

hey all.. me juz came back from some sports camp pre camp.. its preparation for the actual camp for incoming freshies lah.. juz recce the sites and ubin and programs and stuff make sure everythings safe enuff and stuff like that...
DAMN TIRING aHHHHh....3 days 2 nights...and the worst part is that it only a mini version of the actual sports camp which is going to be 6 days long! im going to start my complaining spree..... in ubin kena bitten by mosquitoes like shit.... my butt hurts from all the cycling.. my feet are sore from all the walking.. im all pimply coz of all the filth i was in and i din manage to clean myself at all.. and my throat is sore from the screaming from the fright night... or shd i say.. the attempt at fright night....heh.. had to walk thru 4 trails in the middle of the night coz the program team wanted to make sure the dirt track was safe enough to walk thru in darkness... unbelievable the things we did heh...
im going to take a well deserved rest... you peeps enjoy your hols!.. and gd luck for the dboat race on sundayyyy

Hey you guys, wow just checked out the photos. he really is cute, the baby, not any one else. All of you do look the same..hehe don't seem as if life has been treating any of you all too badly. Too bad was intending to be back in may, but due to the SARS etc attachment was cancelled and now i am doign summer sch, so i wont be back before july and when exactly? I dont know either. bail - the release from the custody of the court of an accused.. all the definitions point to criminal law and the crim procedure so i dont reali know how bail and bond is connected
how does a guarantor function?
he;s like a surety lah.. a person who binds himself to satisfy the obligation of another if the latter fails to do so. basically like if you borrow a huge sum of money from the bank, the bank will want a guarantor to sign a guarantee so in case you cant pay then that guarantor is legally liable to pay the debt for you
i think im pretty useless at this heh.. think you couldve found that out for yourself.. haha
