I don't see your big clue smack in the middle of your answer to Ramses. But the only non-literal singing I can think of is Spike's in "Becoming", as when Joyce asked him what he did and he said "Well, I sing."

In other words, he was planning to blab to the authorities about the activities of a confederate.

So Spike would be the singer, and the type of singing would be informing, and it foretold sorrow in a variety of ways:
if Angelus succeeded, it would have been pretty sorrowful, and even though he didn't it produced probably the most sorrowful moment of the series, namely Buffy having to kill a suddenly resouled Angel.

So if I wanted to fit this into your framework, we might predict that somebody again was going to tell on somebody -- as in one vampire on another -- and that the result again might be similarly Buffy having to kill somebody very dear to her: suffering one sorrow to prevent another.
