Subject: He took a long, deep breath, convincing himself not to allow his temper to flare up - not that his temper was all that frightening anyways. He rubbed a hand over his eyes, and let another long breath out - "I made a mistake. I was trying to keep her from being hurt more by me, that's all. We're not together now, but I would still like to think that I'm a friend of hers... and she needed the support when you hadn't arrived yet... when she woke up." He frowned a bit - okay, so he wasn't macho or intimidating or anything like that, but he loved the girl and that was the most important thing right now.

He growled lightly, wishing for the love god that the kid wasn't a minor and he could just beat the shit out of him right then and there. Joey would have never considered himself macho or really all that tough but this kid was a little pansy in his eyes and he just wanted to get him away from his baby sister.
