He had made a mistake, plain and simple - his kiss had not been a profession of love but rather a lapse of judgement and he liked to tell himself he'd been co-erced against his will. "I'm just not interested in anybody right now...that's all." Anybody but Lacey, of course, but he knew, sadly enough, that that wasn't likely to happen anytime soon, especially with her brothers on his case.
