Subject: She grinned at him gently as he came to her side and kissed her cheek, her bright eyes dancing over his, noting the trouble she saw in them but saying nothing, turning her attention back to his grandfather as he told her again how glad he was that 'young ryan' had found himself a 'nice girl' to take care of. She sipped at the pink champagne delicately, smiling at the men as they each dispersed off to see other guests, leaving ryan and lacey alone together. She turned her attention to him then, resting a hand on his pressed white shirt at his chest. "Are you okay... you look... I don;t know... distracted.."

  • It was imperative to him that she didn't know that he had failed because he was almost sure she would blame herself and he didn't want that to happen. He technically didn't need a career, he could go into the family business, but that wasn't what he wanted. It wasn't like this F would destroy his life, it was just that it would.. he wanted credit.
