the reason i dont like the boston one is because i think it focuses too much on the general idea of the parties and not enough about the specific one. the reason why i care about the specific ones, besides the fact that its ours, is thats what i think will interest local papers, like the daily breeze. mo!

<< SO CAL RAINN Event: Awareness and Hope
For Immediate Release
On August 24th, 2001, In Santa Monica's Quest Studio, will be the first annual undertaking of the So Cal RAINN Event Fundraiser. World and community conscious people alike will gather to help raise money for RAINN, the nation's only confidential, toll-free, twenty-four hour hotline for survivors of rape, abuse an incest (hence the R, A, and I in the acronym RAINN.)
The event will include such music acts as Joe 90 (as heard on tour with the Counting Crows, Jethro Tull, and on blah blah soundtrack) and Faith and the Muse in their only U.S performance for the year. Guests will be provided with dinner supplied by local catering companies such as Sugar and Spice and 3 Brothers Catering among local restaurants. Each gift will also receive a gift bag and be automatically entered into a raffle supplied br products ranging from SkinMarket to Bumble and Bumble.
This event has been organized and shall be maintained yearly by six ywenty-something individuals working for a cause. Says Audrey Nieh, also an organizer of the event, "We're hoping to garner some public attention towards this cause. With crime going down, it's a shame that there's still a woman out there being assaulted once every two minutes." With over sixty parties in thirty-four states and six countries, the So Cal RAINN event is looking to be one of the biggest.
To help get involved, tickets can be purchased for $50.00. Larger donations can be made by contacting the coordinators at: SoCal RAINNEvent@aol.com or by accessing them online at: http://members.aol.com/socalrainnevent/ Those who cannot attend the event are encouraged to donate separately, or enter their raffle, concluding with a grand prize of a donated Bumble and Bumble full-line gift box, retailing at over $200.00, as well as other prizes.
-END- note: the rest of this text is just info for editors, its not part of the length of the pr.
