When I first heard the news, I was at work. I couldn't help it. I literally stopped what I was doing for about 15 minutes to listen to what was going on. The general feelings, that I'm sure that I share with everyone else, were of stomach-knotting disgust, sadness, and fright.

With that said, I would like to share some thoughts that I've had from the past day up until now.

- When I heard the House of Reps sing "God Bless America" after the House leaders made their speeches last night, I was just absorbed with pride in my country. Just to see all of them singing in unison, in unity, stuck a chord deep inside me that will remain and not be forgotten. Even as I write this now, I am swelling up a bit remembering that moment. I have never been so moved by that one song. In moments like these, it makes you realize that we live in a nation that is so great, so united... the United States of America. Together, we can overcome this threat on humanity here and abroad.

- The Port Authority cop who fell 82 stories and only broke two legs... WOW! For those who haven't heard, he actually rode the debris all the way down and survived. I believe that he was found earlier today. He and other survivors are very fortunate. In his case, it's a miracle.

- On the other hand, there are those that are directly effected in one way or another by the tragedy. I just can't imagine the level of shock. It's shocking enough already to watch, to listen, and to hear about the barbaric destruction and absolute disregard for human lives. May God be with them. May God be with us all.

- In conclusion of my thoughts, I surely hope that justice is served. Many people have condemned the terroristic acts. I concur. What goes through the minds of these killers? I don't know. I don't want to know exactly. I will analyze a little, though, just to be even more condemning. We live in a world where terrorism has been prevalent for at least the past two decades, where reality TV is "the thing" now, where there is a new global economy. Now, TV can't be blamed, even though there are the few who can't interpret the stuff in the way it should be interpreted. I'm just mentioning TV because that's always been seen as a factor in promoting violent acts. Maybe they think they can be made famous? I don't think so. There are other ways, GOOD ways. Terrorism is not one of them. Well, hey, you know, it's a way of life for them. I wonder if they've become numb to it. Regardless, it's all hogwash. No one should be so cruel. To take away a major worldwide business center, to strike at a military center, well... that's just asking for it. Enough said.

May our freedom live on. I love this country; and I hope that someday, the perpetrators will see the light. I'm not sure if it's possible, but there is always hope. When we are attacked, the world is attacked. We are the "great melting pot" of the world.

Keep the faith, live out your dreams, love one another, and God bless all of you.
