Subject: The agitation that crossed his features was so brief that it was virtually unnoticeable and so she wasn't even sure if she had seen it, so she had no problem pretending that she hadn't. She nodded a little at his confirmation that he was walking and slid one final drink to him. "Me too." Not that it really mattered, it was just an absent comment. She smiled a little once more before disappearing again to tend to the sudden wave of customers who showed up for refills before they shut the bar down. Once everyone else had been taken care of, she stopped in front of him one final time. "Need anything else, honey?" She was ready to get things cleaned up and head home herself - one slow nights she tried to sneak out of there a couple minutes early so she didn't have to walk home after everyone had been kicked out of all the clubs around. It was more peaceful when she wasn't joined by hoards of drunken men and women.

His eyes lingered on her for a moment before he turned, heading towards the door, pronounced limp accenting his still somehow arrogant stride. Once outside, he paused to light a cigarette, the flash of the lighter reflecting off the silver dog tags around his neck in an eery fashion. He thought back over what the girl had said to him and it struck him that she had said she was walking home. Dark eyes took in the view around him and he found that the thought of her walking in this neighborhood didn't sit well with him. Shifting, he slipped into the shadows and leaned against the wall, waiting for her to come out. (NT) -- Fury, Mon, Sep 25 2006, 12:45am PDT
