才子蘇東坡跟佛印禪師很老友,日常經常跟禪師一起,有一次一起打坐,打座後蘇東坡問佛印,他坐得好不好,佛印說坐得很好像一尊佛。佛印又問,那我又坐得怎樣呢？蘇東坡就得意洋洋的說,你坐得像一堆牛糞,佛印沒作聲,沒有抗議。於是蘇東坡就得意洋洋的把事情告訴蘇小妹,蘇小妹比哥聰明,一聽就知哥哥太失禮,還以為自己比佛印聰明。蘇小妹說哥哥你輸了,禪師心中有佛看眾生都是佛,你看禪師像一堆牛糞,你說你心中有什麼？

這是一則真人真事,事實是你的心中充滿貪瞋痴慢疑,在你心中看世情,則人人的行徑都是壞事,但若你心中有戒定慧,慈悲歡喜的心,則只有正面的心,看到別人正面的貢獻,對人有包容有欣賞。如何看待人幾乎是你自己心中價值觀的一種投射,那你心中想要有佛還是有牛糞？
